Music 125 brings the entire series together. Students learn advanced
techniques for composition and performance, as well as principles
of scoring for film or video. They work with various live performance
devices such as the Buchla Lightning and the Yamaha WX11 wind
instrument, and learn to use the Max programming environment to
create interactive real time compositions. They also produce at
least one video soundtrack using SMPTE synchronization.
125. Advanced Electronic Sound Synthesis.
Offered in Fall
Continuing study in the electronic music studio, with
concentration on compositional development. Includes advanced
applications of skills developed in courses 81 and 124, expansion
of background knowledge and relevant electro- acoustical studies.
Prerequisite: course 124.
