Cave Printing Tutorial

About This Tutorial

This is a basic lesson on how to use Photoshop to print an image in The Cave. It won't help you (much) if you are preparing images to be printed at a photo lab, or if you are preparing images for the Web. Furthermore, there are many ways to go about printing with inkjet printers, and as such, you should know that this tutorial presents a "generic and common" methodology. Your instructor might have their own workflow that they would like you to use. Finally, it's important to keep in mind that the software for each Cave printer is a little bit different, so some of the procedures, menus, and names you see here might appear differently on your workstation. The menus you see for this tutorial come from Photoshop version "CS," using an Epson 7600 printer.

Before you start, make sure you know the type of paper you will be printing on, and if your paper has already been cut, you should know the dimensions of your paper size.

Note, if you will be cutting your paper to a custom size, you may want to wait until you've completed Step 3 of this tutorial, "Image Size"
