Third annual DANM MFA Exhibition set for June
The Digital Arts and New Media (DANM) MFA program at UC Santa Cruz will join the 01SJ Global Festival of Art on the Edge to present the work of 14 DANM graduate students.
This year’s DANM MFA Exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will be held June 4-8 in downtown San Jose. An opening event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 6. (Details at http://danm.ucsc.edu/web/mfaExhibition.)
The UCSC DANM MFA Exhibition is the culmination of two years of research and artistic exploration and will feature new media works that explore performativity, interactivity and participation.
DANM was established in 2004 to address the increasingly central role of digital technology in the arts and to examine the impact of digital arts on culture. The program brings together students and faculty from across the art and academic spectra to collaborate on artistic practice and scholarly research. DANM.01, a public exhibition featuring the program’s first graduating students, was held in June 2006.
