Also I didnt clearly describe MIDI for those of you that dont know it. MIDI is a simple way to describe the pitches, timings, instruments, loudness, etc. of music for playback using some kind of sequencer (in your cases, software you most likely have by default on your computers as in iTines on a Macintosh).

Here is full Powerpoint for our quiz in the fifth class.

Also, for those still not clear on this, you cannot download from the class website using campus WiFi. Youll have to use Ethernet or another wireless server available almost anywhere downtown or even on campus depending on where you are at the time. And here are the TAs and their email addresses for the class. Jonathan Hoefs: jhoefs@ucsc.edu, Andre Marquetti: amarque3@ucsc.edu; Fernanda Navarro: nandanavarro@gmail.com. Please note that I have replaced the new MGC file with a new one that corrects a couple of mistakes. The correct way to use this code is in the form (save-midi-file "dave.mid" (make-cope-events '((0 2000)(0 4000)) '((60 64)(48 55)) '((2000 2000)(4000 4000)) '((1 1)(2 2)) '((127 127)(127 127)))) Note that the first argument are the channel order ontimes, the second pitches, the third durations, the fourth channels, and the fifth loudness. I will demonstrate this on Thursday.
