The music program at UCSC integrates music performance, theory, composition, and history and literature, offering students many possibilities for individual growth in its unusually diverse curriculum.
The undergraduate program offers the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Music (BM) degrees, as well as a Minor in Music, an Electronic Music Minor, and a Jazz Minor.
The graduate program offers the Master of Arts (MA) in Music with an emphasis in composition, ethnomusicology, performance practice, or conducting; the Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) in Music Composition with tracks in computer-assisted composition or world music composition; and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Music with an emphasis in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary studies.
