Julia DeGuzman Through performance and installation, I can create and control an environment where the audience’s/ participant’s experience is heightened and emphasized. Using simple materials such as paper, plastic bags and simple directions I am able to draw the audience’s / participant’s attention to idea and concepts that would otherwise be taken for granted in everyday occurrences. In most pieces the audience. Participant is the primary medium. Their presence and cooperation is a vital component of the piece. What they take away with them afterwards is as important as what they experience. |
