Slideshow Tutorial
Step 4: How to Output
Once you've decided on your presentation method, you're ready to output.
If you are going to present your slideshow using iPhoto, there's really nothing left for you to do. Just remember you will need to present the slideshow using the computer that the slideshow was created on. Just push the "play" button from within iPhoto, and you're all set.
If you are going to make a DVD with your slideshow on it, you need to tell iPhoto to send your slideshow to iDVD. From the top menu bar, choose "Share--->Send to iDVD" and iPhoto will export your slideshow to iDVD. If you will be exporting your slideshow as a quicktime movie, choose "Share-->Export..." This will open a new window with options for saving your quicktime file. Give your quicktime file a name, choose a location for it (such as the Desktop), and make sure you set the "Movie Size" to "Large (720x480)." See the photos below, and note the red arrows, for assistance.
Choose "Send to iDVD" for DVD burning, or "Export..." if you are making a Quicktime movie:
NOTE: Choosing "Send to iDVD" will open the iDVD program. This tutorial will not go into the specifics of how to use the iDVD program. For assistance with iDVD, check with the Art Department IT coordinator, or consult the staff at the Porter College computing lab
Options for Exporting a Quicktime:
You can play your Quicktime file on any computer with Quicktime installed on it. If you burned your slideshow onto a DVD, you should test your DVD's compatibility with whatever DVD player you are going to use to present your slideshow.
That's it! You're slideshow is now complete.
