| Hester
has created works in an array of styles, ranging from solos and duets,
chamber music for string quartet and flute choir, to orchestral compositions,
music for various types of combos and chamber ensembles, and works
that blend electronic and acoustic instruments. Concerts with Hesterian
Musicism in the 1990s frequently featured electro-acoustic compositions
and more recently, he collaborated with poet Avotcja, dancer Wilfred
Mark, visual artist Carl Lewis in creating a concert of "Global
African Experiments in Music, Light, Word and Dance" at the 2003
Global African Music Festival, where Hester premiered several
musical landscapes recorded on synthesizer and with overlays of live
acoustic performance.
